Taking its name from the fact that a film studio was constructed there in the 1920s, Studio City, California, is a community northwest of downtown Los Angeles. Given its namesake, it is no surprise that Studio City is home to countless celebrities. Studio City's real estate is also home to the iconic house used in the “Brady Bunch” sitcom, further cementing its connection with the film industry. In and around Studio City are parks and hiking trails, and the area also features an array of parks and outdoor spaces to explore. The legendary Mulholland Drive winds along its southern border. The Hollywood Freeway runs through the eastern part of Studio City, making it easy to get to downtown Los Angeles for the bustle of big-city life. 
 
The iconic Ventura Boulevard runs through the area and is lined with excellent shops and restaurants. A variety of Studio City homes for sale are available in the area which include single-family homes and condominiums. Studio City is also home to the CBS Studio Center. Residents can visit the Universal City Overlook for a stunning view of the area. You’ll also find tennis courts and a nine-hole golf course here. With a place like Firefly, a reservation might be a good idea. PREMIER Restaurant and Bar is a stylish family restaurant founded in 2007. It features delicious European food and has space for private events. The chef uses seasonal produce and the freshest fish and meat. 
 
The closest shopping center is Westfield Fashion Square, just a few miles away in Sherman Oaks. This is where you will find all of the top national brands, fantastic home decor stores, and wonderful eateries. Also nearby is the Universal City Walk, 10 minutes away in Universal City. This is an area with studio tours, entertainment, fun restaurants, and luxury brand stores. 
 

Things to Do

The Universal City Overlook was created in 1984, thanks to a donation provided by Universal Studios. It provides an incredible view of the distant mountains and the surrounding area. You can spend time hiking through Fryman Canyon, which rewards visitors with some spectacular views. Coldwater Canyon Park also has some fun hiking to discover. 
 
Weddington Golf & Tennis features a nine-hole golf course and plenty of tennis courts. There, you’ll find golf professionals to help improve your game. It also has a driving range, a practice green, and a chipping practice section. For tennis players, it offers lessons and programs. 
 
To find some fresh food, handmade crafts, jewelry, and a lot more, there’s the Studio City Farmers Market. Art lovers will feel at home at the Arts and Crafts Show. The show has been held for decades and features an array of original art. In addition, it helps to raise money for charities.
